Bangalore, May 27, 2016: It is not uncommon for tantalizing wines to be paired with flavourful cuisines but when paired with fiery hot food, people are often met with skepticism. Breaking this stereotypical approach to wine consumption, Sula Vineyards, India’s #1 wine company and largest wine producer joined hands with Enoteca by Madhuloka today to commence a unique ‘Wine and Spice Soiree’.

The event was attended by food and wine enthusiasts who gathered to treat themselves to an unforgettably appetizing experience.  As the evening began, Chef Tanvi Chandran’s delectable Indian preparations like Vada Pav, Achari Paneer Samosa, Seekh Kebab and SevPuri were served and later paired with the most delightful Sula wines by Enoteca and Sula’s Sommeliers Mr. Gaurav Thapar and Ms. Karishma Thakur.

The Sommeliers complemented each dish with its perfect companion wine that enriched the zests of the repasts. The 2015 Sula Riesling a fruity, aromatic wine was paired with mini Vada Pav Burgers while the Achari Paneer Cocktail Samosas were accompanied by the fun and fruity 2015 Sula Zinfandel Rose. Further, the 2015 Dindori Reserve Viognier lent its spicy, floral flavours to augment the taste of the spicy Sev Puri tarts and the 2014 Hardys’ Riesling Gewürztraminer from Sula’s import arm Sula Selections was served alongside theSeekh Kebab Skewers. The marriage of spicy Indian food and aromatic and fruity wines was affluently appreciated by the wine and food aficionados that had flocked to the event.

Having that said, the culinary journey didn’t end there! There was also a scrumptious feast laid out with main course dishes such asBhurjee Pav Tawa Pulao, Pav Bhaji and Ragda Patice for people to indulge in. Having kept the best for the last, the wine trainers served the supremely delicious and rich dessert, Kulfi Falooda with jelly and custard with Sula’s award-winning Sula Late Harvest Chenin Blanc, a wine full of plenteous aromas of mango, honey and tropical fruit; the perfect conclusion to an ambrosial meal.
