Bengaluru May 30, 2017: Yash Aradhya, the 14-year-old Bengaluru boy studying in class 9 at Bishop Cotton Boys’ School and a multiple National Go Karting Champion who represented India in CIK FIA Academy Trophy across Europe, at the final round of the MMS Formula Junior Series held on May 27 & 28, 2017 at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore clinched 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze to win this Round which consisted of 5 races.

With this Win, Yash secured a total of 177 points, 71 points from Round-1 and 106 points from Round-2, to be crowned the Vice Champion and became the Youngest to claim the title. The Championship was claimed by the 24 years old Rupesh Sivakumar of Salem with 199 points and the 2nd runner-up was claimed by Kevin Perera of Srilanka with 145 points.

It may be noted that, Yash recently graduated from Go Karting to Formula LGB Swift and had an impressive start in the Round-1 of MMS Formula Junior Series last month.

The racing series was conceived and promoted by former F3 champion Akbar Ebrahim’s Meco Motor Sports to be a bridge between Karting and Formula Racing. The Formula LGB Swift is a single seater, open wheel class in India launched in 2003. The cars are powered by 1.3 liter Maruti Esteem engines. This car can be considered as an Indian equivalent of Europe’s Formula Ford series, where it is void of aerodynamic aids like wings. From 2006 this car replaced Formula Maruti as an entry-level formula car. This series offers the first feel and insights into open wheel racing for an upcoming race driver.
