Partners with Meraki Sport & Entertainment to take Cardio Tennis pan-India

29th July, Bengaluru: Cardio Tennis – a fitness activity that has become very popular in the US, UK and Australia, is all set to touch down in India. Licensed in India, by Rohan Bopanna and Meraki Sports & Entertainment, Cardio Tennis (CT) is a fun, group cardio-workout, combining the best features of tennis and cardiovascular exercises to create an invigorating, full-body, high-intensity workout, with music & fitness drills along with innovative tennis games.

Speaking at the launch in Bengaluru, ace Tennis Player Rohan Bopanna, said, “The thing that excited me the most about CT, is the fact that it is probably the only fitness activity which is inspired by sport, and thus becomes a great initiation to the sport of tennis also. While people today have multiple options to get healthy & stay fit, the uniqueness about CT is that it will encourage people to get out & play! For long tennis has always been seen as an elite sport, largely because the access to play the game is limited. With CT we hope to take both tennis & fitness to people”.

“Rohan has a great ability to spot trends and when he mentioned to us about CT and its popularity globally, we had no doubt that this will resonate with consumers looking for newer fitness experiences. One of the most exciting aspects of this regimen is that it is heart-rate monitored and a detailed performance report is sent to each participant at the end of every session. Apart from regular sessions at key locations, our endeavor as Meraki will also be to reach out to thhe corporate / IT sector across the country”, said Ajit RavindranManaging Director, Meraki Sport & Entertainment

Harsha ThimmaiahDirector – CT (India), added “open to participants of all ages, and varying levels of tennis proficiency (from beginner to amateur), a session of CT runs for about 50 min. with 4 different segments, where participants can expect to burn about 500-600 calories on average, per session. We can accommodate up to 12-14 participants per session and can conduct back to back or parallel sessions, based on the infrastructure available. What’s interesting is that a Cardio Tennis session can also be conducted in areas other than a tennis court – ranging from a large hall to a playground and even on some football turfs”

The program is active over weekends at KSLTA (Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association, Cubbon Road) and will soon be available at key locations across Bengaluru over the next 2-3 months. Please call us on 9731395717 to sign up for the session.
